FML Eye Drop Fluorometholone 5ml belongs to ophthalmic eye medications primarily used to treat bacterial eye infections and reduce swelling.

Fluorometholone is used to treat inflammation of parts of conjunctiva (thin, clear, moist membrane of the eye) such as the palpebral conjunctive (a clear membrane, which coats the inside of the eyelids.) and bulbar conjunctiva (a clear membrane of the eye, which covers the outer surface of the eye).

How it works

Fluorometholone belongs to a group of medicines called synthetic corticost**d (glucocorticoid). Fluorometholone binds to its receptors and controls the production of certain chemicals that mediate inflammation in the body, thereby inhibiting the inflammatory reactions (such as swelling, fibrin [type of protein involved in clotting process] deposition, capillary dilatation, phagocyte [large white blood cells that can swallow and digest microbes and other foreign particles] migration).
