Introduction of Victoza 6mg
Victoza 6mg contains Liraglutide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetics. Victoza 6mg is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus which helps your body to reduce high blood sugar levels and slows food passage through your stomach which also prevents heart disease. Victoza 6mg is used alone when your blood sugar is not properly controlled by diet, exercise, and other oral antidiabetic medicines such metformin, pioglitazone, sulfonylurea (such as glimepiride, glipizide) sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2i)) such as (empagliflozin, dapagliflozin) and/or insulin. Type 2 Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that occurs due high level of sugar in the blood which is generally characterized by symptoms such as increased thirst, frequent urination, increased hunger, unintended weight loss, weakness and blurred vision.
Liraglutide works by helping the pancreas to release the right amount of insulin when blood sugar levels are high which is then moved into body tissue from the blood where it is used for energy thus resulting in the reduction of blood sugar level which also slows the emptying of the stomach resulting in decrease of appetite thereby preventing weight gain.
Victoza 6mg is not recommended for use in patients having type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes with high blood sugar and increase in effort to breathe), severe stomach, or gut problems, inflammatory bowel disease, severe liver disease, or heart failure. Before using Victoza 6mg, inform your doctor if you have thyroid disease such as enlarged thyroid gland, have or had a disease of pancreas such as pancreatitis.
